Life Coaching is a practice from which individuals may benefit in their personal, professional, educational and spiritual capacities, depending on the purpose for which the life coach is entailed.
Jane Scudder, certified life coach and founder of the leadership development firm The New Exec, defines it application as: “Life coaching focuses on what’s happening right now, what a person wants next, and how that gap can be bridged”.
Open, communicative professional cooperation with a life coach will involve being guided toward:
- Identifying the individual’s current position and the need to develop, improve, enhance or progress toward a greater objective or goal;
- Identifying and assessing obstacles presenting at the time or anticipated to present along the way;
- Finding, recognizing and maintaining motivation throughout pursuit of the final objective;
- Developing the understanding and mastery of applying these skills toward the positive development of all aspects of the individual’s life as a comprehensive growth mechanism.
